VetsReady™ is a proprietary certification developed by Barker and Barker Consulting for international providers serving U.S. veterans under the VA Foreign Medical Program. Designed to complement Joint Commission International, never to replace it.
What VetsReady™ certifies
The workflow core. The intake-to-payment administrative workflows that surround VA Foreign Medical Program claims—how the provider captures the Benefits Authorization letter, verifies service-connected status, documents the nexus between covered condition and care delivered, packages and submits the claim, translates VA rejection codes into internal corrective procedure, and runs the FMP receivable to payment.
The veteran-experience adjacent. The touchpoints where the workflow meets the veteran—veteran status identification at intake, military cultural competency training for staff, VA information exchange, and veteran-experience measurement.
What VetsReady™ is not
Clinical quality is the domain of Joint Commission International (JCI), ISO 9001, and national ministry-of-health licensure. VetsReady™ is designed as a complement to those accreditations, not a substitute.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs does not certify, approve, or maintain a preferred network of international providers under FMP. VetsReady™ is a private mark, not a VA endorsement.
VA FMP is the sole adjudicator. VetsReady™ does not and cannot promise a payment outcome. The provider controls its workflow; VA controls adjudication.
